If you DON'T report you- you will be the guy that no one can trust!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think a lot of people will agree with me when I say that's one of the worst possible things a Rush Director could do- is to turn a blind eye to recruitment violations!!!!!!! That's one of the reasons for the position.
Rules are there for a reason. What the hell's the point of having them if they're not going to be enforced? As long as you are fair about it- report your own house if they're doing something wrong, and don't report one house but not another.
We had this happen in Panhel rush at Pitt last spring. Two sororities (which shall remain nameless, for obvious reasons) went door to door in the freshman dorms handing out fliers for their sororities. One tried to get past it by stapling it to the back of a general rush flier. This is a HUGE infraction, something that is blatantly stated in the rules. Plus it's just dumb- they knocked on two of our girl's doors (who had pledged in the fall) and gave them fliers. Which they subsequently gave to us. When it was reported, the VP Internal of Panhel was like "well, i don't know....." and dragged her feet and nothing was ever really done. That REALLY pissed a lot of us off, and people lost a lot of respect for that girl.
Essentially, you have a job to do, and if you don't do it, you're going to make some enemies and lose respect for yourself and your house. Yeah you might piss some people off for reporting their house, but it's their own damn fault anyway. If they break a rule, they have to deal with the consequences of breaking that rule. That's how life works...
