there was another lifetime movie that featured a fraternity (Kappa Pi) and how one of the brothers (Mark Paul Gossalear *Zach from Saved By The Bell*) raped a freshman girl (Candace Cameron *DJ from Full House*) at a fraternity party. Her brother is in the fraternity and he doesn't believe his brother would do that to his sister, etc. It was a pretty good film, we watched it in health class in high school.

The way I remember it, only 5 women & the housemother were living in the house that summer, all of whom became suspects, so they all got together & were trying to figure out who did it (before the police did). Loretta Swit's character was active in Pro-Life circles. Shelley Faberge (sp?) was another sister - but her character was gay, so she didn't have the baby, and Paula Prentiss was another, the "slutty sister", and she had an excuse. It turned out that while Paula Prentiss was cheating with one of the other women's fiance, the fiancee had a baby at 6 months, and she & the housemother dropped it down between two walls into the basement, already dead.
It ended with the big confession, and the five of them walked into the courthouse arm in arm to each say that she was the guilty one.

"The Graduate" isn't about fraternity life but there is one scene where Dustin Hoffman runs into the Theta Chi Delta house looking for the man who's going to marry his girlfriend. It's not a big scene but it's a pretty important scene.

Ahh, yes, I remember that sorry-excuse for a movie.
*shakes head in disgust*
Everytime I go to an event now, my bloodsister says to me (sarcastically, of course) "Are they gonna hang you from a sheet off of a building?"

There was a play so many years ago called "Vanities" (I don't think it was ever a movie). It was a story about 3 college co-eds. I'm not sure if they were Kappas or just wanted to be Kappas, but it mentioned Kappa Kappa Gamma. I can't remember if it mentioned Kappa in a flattering light or not! I think Annette O'Toole was one of the actresses. I want to say Meredith Baxter was in it also but can't be sure.

I remember this one! It was done very well, too. I think there were only the 3 characters, and it showed them in high school, college, and about 10 years after college. Meredith Baxter WAS one of them, and I remember them as being Kappas, too. I think the Broadway show was taped for tv eventually.

In the late '70's there was a horrible sorority movie with Shelly Winters as the house mother. It was a sorority of outcasts and had something to do with witchcraft. They portrayed the other sororities as snobs and this one was just plain weird. Can't remember the name, actually don't want to remember. I just remember cringing at how awful it portrayed Greeks during a time with membership was really down.

hahahahahaha....
this movie is called "The Initiation of Sarah." Hey, when you have Morgan Fairchild AND Morgan Brittany in the same flick, you know it's got to be high quality!! If you have the Plex channel, you can probably catch this one since they run it quite often.

They did a remake of it last year around Halloween for ABC Family or something like that. It is hysterical if you are a Greek, but yeah, it just adds to the negative perception of us from the outside and turns us into a joke once again.
Has there ever been a really accurate movie of Greek life?

How about the classic underdog movie: Revenge of the Nerds? You get all of the cheese, all of the stereotypes, but somehow it still makes me laugh.
"Burning Down the House!"
And you have Anthony Edwards back when he had hair.
(ps-- The sequels SUUUUUUUCK.)

I love this thread!
Are any of these movies good for use with anti-hazing seminars for sisters?
Just curious! Thanks!

Hmmm if i'm not mistaken I think i vaguely remember there being something about fraternaties on the movie "Orange County".. it wasn't part of the dominating theme of the movie, but I think there was a teensy part.. like a party or something.
And don't know if this has been mentioned on this thread yet, but what about Van Wilder?
