Well, my thing is that with Trump winning and the Project 2025 plans to get rid of the Department of Education, how will that affect Greek Life? It's already going through issues due to the demographic cliff, now if students can't get federal grants/loans, it may accelerate that

Agree as well. And Kennedy possibly running the FDA—but I’m hoping for the best. We have to look ahead.

Yeah, I agree, PB. I still don’t know how you knew this fool was going to win. I thought he was going to win at first with Biden in the mix, but when Harris showed up, I just knew she was going to win. When I read your post that he was going to win, I actually laughed and thought you were dead wrong.

Nah, man, I knew. For me, what’s happening in the world is pretty simple to predict and see. Folks, and pretty much the global atmosphere have become contaminated and saturated with hatred, racism, crime, meanness, disrespect, and a multitude of other expressions of insensitivity. Everything you see happening now and around you, it’s supposed to happen. One thing is connected to the other — meaning that one event has to unfold in order for the doors to open for the next. Things will get worse. That’s why I don’t get into arguments with people. I never have. Some people know the truth, while others don’t. The best thing to do is to distance yourself from those who don’t know.
With Trump, you had the highest court in the nation protecting him. You had the entire legal system protecting him, and you had the majority of the country voting for him. That means the country got what it deserves. But all this is supposed to happen, man. Just be cool, take care of your family, and yourself.

I am very sad when I think of the changes that he will make to our heath care, education and environment.

Wow. You nailed this one to the wall. As scary as this is, I do see it. I do think things will get worse, and IMO, it needs to get far worse in a hurry for enough of those who support this craziness to see what they’ve allowed. Only then will we get beyond this moment. Unfortunately, I think it will take an Emmett Till like event to start this process.

Co-signing to exactly what you said. Still the absurdity of this just boggles my mind.

I had opted to not watch any of the coverage last night or even in the few days leading up to this mess. I didn't even check news websites/email that would have news alerts etc. As I was driving into to work today I thought to myself, we as a country have not evolved enough compared to other industrialized countries to allow a woman to serve in such a high position of power. I then checked my non-work email on my phone and saw the headline. I was cautiously hopeful for a change but here we are back to the same nonsense. And to your last point Phrozen, it makes me sad to even think of getting to that point in our history again but you might be right on that one.

Peter Savodnik (The Free Press) has some ideas on what happened:
“They didn’t lose because they didn’t spend enough money,” writes Peter. “They didn’t lose because they failed to trot out enough celebrity influencers. They lost because they were consumed by their own self-flattery, their own sense of self-importance.”
And above all else, they lost because they lied. “They seemed to think that Americans wouldn’t mind that they had pretended Joe Biden was ‘sharp as a tack,’ that they actually orchestrated a behind-the-scenes switcheroo, that the party that portrayed itself as the nation’s answer to fascism nominated its standard-bearer without consulting a single voter.”
Last night, the truth caught up with them
