I've always thought that membership selection would be so hard there because practically everyone has a 4.0 or above, so the only grade cuts would be for upperclassmen.

Recruitment Schedule
Hers's the schedule for the week!
August 9th: PNM Move-In &
Orientation
August 10th-11th: Round 2
August 12th-13th: Round 3
August 14th-16th: Break for
Classes
August 17th: Preference
Round
August 18th: Bid Day
I'm gonna be overseas the next few weeks, so I'll hopefully get an Ole Miss and of course SMU thread in (heavy on SMU since this is the first time they're doing fall recruitment as far as I know.) I hope every chapter does well, and huge shout out to Alpha Xi for their first fall recruitment!

Good heavens, what are the Gamma Chis wearing?!? When I was a Rho Chi (yup, I'm that old) we wore sun hats. Our outfits were whatever we wanted, except we had to dress up for pref, and no black or white dresses (4 chapters wore black and 1 wore white).

Gamma Chis (formerly Rho Chis) at UGA have worn blue vests like that since the dawn of time, and Exec wears red vests. Or, at least since the mid 80s, which is the same thing

I am not even sure high school GPA means anything any more. So much grade inflation, everyone gets a trophy and the AI... If they were admitted to the university, at this point does it really matter?

Well, you have to have a certain very high SAT score to get into Georgia, so if they have that their grades probably weren't inflated. We've seen a lot of that, though, at the colleges where I've taught. I'll get kids who have all A's in 3 years of Spanish who can't conjugate a verb, and it's obvious then that either their teachers were inflating grades or their administrators forced them to.

Oh man I saw a video on tik tok where the rho gammas were “knocking” on the house and in backing up to let the door open, one crashed onto the pillar of the house! I think it was alpha Xi since the house had different letters up.

Same at MIT. I've never heard of an incoming freshman PNM being cut for not meeting the minimum GPA.

A lot of freshman actually do get cut do to their GPA. If it is below the Inter/National minimum those are the first girls that get cut. I see it every year helping with recruitment. They way the active members see it is that if they don't have the grades in high school, they won't have them in college. I do see many PNMs go through spring COB or formal recruitment again to show they can have the grades. I am at a smaller school in New Mexico. Seen the same at a smaller Texas school too.

aephi alum and I were talking about at schools where most freshmen had to have about a 4.9 to get in. I can see how upperclassmen might not have the GPA there.
