Forgetting a letter in chapter creation.

I was running through fraternity and sorority magazines trying to get information to update the chapter lists on Wikipedia, when I found the following.

For one of the groups, they had a magazine issue (This was pre-WWI) with Chapter Histories in brief for each of their chapters from Alpha up to Phi. This includes location, chartering date, founder etc.

The entry for one of the greek letters was *similar* to
-- Chapter: ( In assigning letters to the Chapters this letter was omitted by mistake )


The group did eventually assign a chapter for that greek letter, but the fact that it was forgotten is fascinating. (I slightly changed the statement so it won't be *too* obvious which group)

Are you saying that particular issue of their magazine admitted the letter was skipped? That's both funny and embarrassing.

Yes, it did admit that the letter was skipped. Note, they did use it, it appears that letter was assigned in the same year that the Omega and Alpha Alpha chapters were assigned.
