Colleges closing/merging

Here's a site with past/upcoming college closures/mergers. St. John's Staten Island is on the list and they do have a few greek organizations. IUPUI will become separate academic organizations. I am sure this list will grow in time.

With the closing of St. John's-Staten Island, the following organizations will be closing chapters:

- Kappa Beta Gamma
-Theta Phi Alpha
-Alpha Phi Delta
-Kappa Sigma

Wondering if the charters (chapters) will be able to be transferred to St John's Queens Campus.

Theta Phi Alpha already has a chapter there. The rest, do not.

State universities are merging in PA. So far it hasn’t had any affect on Greek life.

There was an article in the Post Gazette (behind a paywall) today discussing that the state schools are working with the community colleges to create easier pathways to transfer. The article had an interesting quote- “adapt or die.” I think that’s pretty accurate!

Here is an article about the situation: https://www.inquirer.com/news/pennsy...outputType=amp
