Recruitment Counselors Disaffiliation

What are some of the pros and cons that some you have seen with the recruitment counselors not disaffiliating? The Campus Panhellenic is finally voting on the new standards.

The con I've seen is that so many RCs who are supposed to be disaffiliated are really texting their sisters 24/7 about girls they do and don't like and I often wonder why we bother.

I advised at a campus that got rid of RC disaffiliation. Honestly, it didn't really affect recruitment as much as I thought it would. NM classes were the same as they were before the change, and there didn't seem to be any RCs working to convince NMs to pick their chapter or anything.

Honestly, at most campuses I know, even when RCs are disaffiliated, members stay in constant contact with their chapters the whole time anyway. You can only do so much to keep people from talking. Now it's so much easier to be covert about it.

I was advising at UCLA, when they were the first to get rid of RC disaffiliation. It helped PNMs stay in recruitment. If someone wasn’t happy with the houses they were going to that day, their RC could tell that PNM to talk to the RCs who were in those houses and if the girl liked those RCs, she would usually stay in recruitment.
