Not hearing back during COB

Does not hearing back from a sorority equal rejection? I went on a coffee chat with one sorority exactly one week ago and still havent heard anything back so I am just wondering.

There are less hurtful terms to describe not being invited back for a second visit with sorority members. But yes, unfortunately, rejection fits.

It may be permanent or temporary, dependent upon multiple possibilities. Among them MAY be:

A] the way these women feel you will or will not be able to successfully contribute to, and grow within, their membership;

B] their having already filled to quota and COB capacity limits for the semester;

C] your GPA;

D] your status as a freshman/sophomore/etc..

Please don't take one group's current lack of interest as a sign you will never be a sorority member. Continue to let the Greek Life Office at your school know you are open-minded toward further Recruitment Events, and allow them to guide your path. Best of luck on your journey!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sometimes whoever's in charge forgets...or they're still talking to PNMs....or who knows. I went to a dinner at a sorority, and didn't hear back from them for three weeks. By the time they called again, I had already joined a different group.
And don't read too much into not getting a bid now. It doesn't mean they'll drop you if you go through formal recruitment later. Others may have accepted bids and they filled up before they talked to you again.
That's one of the problems with COB...you don't know where you stand. At least in formal, you get a definite yes or no each round.
