California State University system now has a third Cal Poly
Humboldt State University will now be formally named "California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt", and will be known as "Cal Poly Humboldt".
Hopefully this new designation and name change will result in an increase in undergraduates and an increase interest in greek life. Currently, there are 2 NIC fraternities, 1 NPC sorority and a few multicultural organizations.
I think there was a NPC extension here a few years ago but a NPC sorority was never added.

I always get excited when a school opens up and you hear about who presents and gets invited to join the school's greek system. Hopefully it works out!

Full list of Social GLOs.
Fraternities: Kappa Sigma (Formerly NIC), Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity (Former NALFO, current NIC)
Sororities: Delta Phi Epsilon (NPC), Gamma Alpha Omega (former NALFO), Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority (Former NALFO)
So the most significant Umbrella Organization there is *former* members of National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO). *Really* makes me wonder what Recruitment looks like.
(Anyone knows how NPC recruitment works with *one* NPC sorority on campus?)

In my experience, until there are two (or more) NPC orgs on campus, there is no Panhellenic. With just one NPC,
the national office sets the chapter's membership agenda.

That's pretty cool. Arcata, CA is in Northern California and that will be a nice thing for the north end of the state. But, yikes, it's way up there! LOL

Let's face it, the chapters there should get their choice as to whether to get grouped with the chapters in the SF Bay area or with those in Oregon...

My son graduated from Humboldt. Campus is gorgeous. The fact it was small was what appealed to him. Will be interesting to see how the dynamics change over the next few years.

School demo's
The school has a high percentage of Latino/Hispanic population according to the numbers, 33% so this makes sense (to me anyway).
