James,
There is nothin mean about my post. Perhaps you should read some of the comments that she sent to members of GC. When something you hold so proud and dear to your heart is being taken as something it isn't and without permission, you stand up. cristina means well, I know this, but, and I stated this before, why must it be referred to Sigma Kappa (whatever) and be a women's group yet not a sorority? There is alot of violation in some of her posts, not only to my organization, but to the values and moral systems as Greeks. I have tried to help this woman, but when it comes to a point to which she has brought it, there is a time where I must put my foot down. I know local sorority members who are standing with me on this situation.... if she wants an organization, she should make it unique..... she asked us for new member education textbooks, information on our colors and symbols, and there is alot of similarity b/t her organization she originally planned and Sigma Kappa. I work for a copyright violations lawyer, things were suspicious. Maybe if you could see this as not trying to be mean, just fed up.

When I went to Mount Ida in 93 there was a sorority
I was in a sorority at Mount Ida in 1993, it was a Sorority of 60 girls. It was called Rho Sigma Phi. It died out from what I heard because no one wanted to rush and pledge. Ask around I bet some pleople who worked there remembered us.

It was suggested to me to start a local sorority instead of going through the process of being affiliated. My friend and I are creating this together. One of the sites gave a list of all the names of the sororities and such that are in use. My friend and I chose the name of Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi. I like what Sigma Kappa represents, eventhough as Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi we are making our own rules, etc because there isn't a Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi before us trying to create it as a local chapter.

OMG...... SKEPi!!
Been awhile. I know I should make fun of the poster above me for responding to a 7 year old thread, but the bump of thread awesomeness cancels out the urge.

The school in question (Mount Ida College) doesn’t even exist anymore- it’s now part of UMass Amherst.

SKEPi would have probably kept that school independent and alive! 🤣
