There would be some justification if her career would be over, but she’ll just start playing the murderous slut in Lifetime movies instead of the woman in jeopardy.

Bumping an old thread, but has anyone seen the Netflix documentary on this? Some of the things the parents were saying about their children....it's appalling. The transcripts showed that the parents were basically saying their kids are functional imbeciles. In a way, I feel bad for the kids because they now know their parents' true feelings.
I guess these parents felt they had to get their kids into these elite schools so they could fit in with their country club friends. Perhaps I don't fully understand since I'm not in that world, but I'd prefer my children go to a school where they could succeed and fit in. If my children struggled K-12, I wouldn't want them to go to a highly-competitive university where they constantly felt as though they never quite measure up to their peers. It would be so defeating.

To quote my sister after her child's college search: "I think we went a little crazy."
Parents, just remember, you can likely buy your child at least one Domino's Pizza franchise (maybe two) for what you will end up paying for a four year degree at just a mediocre private university.
