Gamma Xi Phi Serves Rural Northeastern North Carolina

[Gamma Xi Phi]

The Beta Lambda Chapter of Gamma Xi Phi distributed self-care kits, including adult coloring books, crayons, and colored pencils, to 62 households in rural Northeastern North Carolina from Saturday, December 19, 2020, through Tuesday, December 22, 2020.

This project, nationally called Art for All, allows chapters of Gamma Xi Phi to assist the community in an artistic way. In this case, Beta Lambda facilitated creativity in each participating member of the community by providing accessible creative tools that any adult could use.

I love that you included pencil sharpeners. That seems like a small thing; but, it shows the attention to detail in making sure the recipients would get full use out of the art set.

Thank you! It was a LOT more work than I expected. I'm from the city. Delivering packages door to door was never this exhausting before lol.

Thank you! Funny story about why I remembered to include them:

My students broke my AMAZING electric pencil sharpener 15 year ago and I have yet to find one that good. So making sure that adults (who were not expecting coloring books or colored pencils) could actually maintain/sustain them was important to me.
