Greek Advisor and Chapter Operations

I need help from those more familiar with NPC bylaws.

New Mexico State recent got a new Greek Advisor after almost 5+ years. The chapter started a Photo Circle account to share picture with the chapter members. Recently one of our members that is on Panhellenic Exec added the Greek Advisor to the account without notifying the chapter exec. When the exec found out they started a new account and didn't add the Advisor. Now the Panhellenic Judicial chair, that is part of the chapter, is telling our Communications VP that they are not allowed to have an account without her in it. I feel she is overstepping. Is there anything in the bylaws that states a chapter must allow a Greek Advisor to be part of a chapter account? There are no local Panhellenic bylaws, they just NPC bylaws.

This is also a Greek Advisor that is not allowing Panhellenic exec to perform their duties because she wants to it for them.

flirt, the Panhellenic Association for NMSU does indeed have bylaws. Go to this page, scroll down to Panhellenic Council Resources, click on "Panhellenic Council Constitution". I just skimmed the bylaws and find nothing about social media and mandating the Greek Life Advisor's participation in same.

I could see adding a specific chapter advisor to that sorority's account; plenty of reasons to do so. However, involving non-chapter members in "chapter business" makes me really uncomfortable. Frankly, this is something to take up with AXiD headquarters, for starters. I'd reach out to the other NPC sorority advisors as well because I suspect you aren't the only one questioning this "policy". And no, this isn't a mandate from NPC HQ (to involve Greek Life personnel in social media) unless something's just changed.

Excellent advise, AZTheta. I would also reach out to the AZiD national NPC representative as she can contact the NPC Area Adviser who should be working with the NMSU Greek Adviser on all things PH.
