community college honor society...
I'm currently at a community college hoping to transfer to a university for my junior year.
There are a couple of honor societies in my school (Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Gamma Sigma) and I want to join because I heard that it would give me the extra edge when applying to a university.
If I do join one of them, am I still allowed to join a sorority when I transfer to a university? because I heard, you can only be a member of one sorority/fraternity in your lifetime.

Most fraternities and sororities will not bar you from membership if you're involved with an honor society -- typically, that restriction is for joining multiple social GLOs. In fact, there are several people who hold joint memberships in social organizations and honor societies.

An honor society is not a sorority.

Honor societies are not sororities - they aren't secretive like sororities are (I don't know if there are "social" sororities but I do know that there are social fraternities, like ΔY and ΠΚΦ where they aren't secretive with their rituals or things like that). Honor societies just happen to take on the names of GLOs - you can be in both...and it looks good on your resume!

A Phi Omega is service group not a social fraternity. APO is like Key Club in HS.
Phi Theta Kappa is a jr college honor society-grade based not a social fraternity.
You can belong to these and join a IFC social Greek Fraternity

You are replying to a thread that is 12 years old. The poster has probably graduated and gone on with his life.
