The Handmaid's Tale

Wondering if anyone has read/seen "The Handmaid's Tale"?

I'd never read the book until a month ago and then immediately watched the first season on Hulu. I was impressed with the TV adaptation, primarily the performances by Elisabeth Moss and Ann Dowd, but also the writing. I found some of the episodes to be very gripping and disturbing, often times I couldn't sit still from the discomfort of watching.

The final episode was brilliant. I have no idea where they're going to go with the story now, but I'm anxious to find out.

Handmaid's Tale

I read the book years ago, and saw a previous movie adaptation that was OK. I've really enjoyed the series. It sticks to the atmosphere and actions int he book, while also filling in the gaps to show us more.

It's supposed to fascinate you and make you uncomfortable. It's thought-provoking. We think, "This would never happen here." But could it?

I 've seen the movie but need to pick up the book. I've heard the book is much better than the movie and I thought the movie was pretty decent.

I really like how they modernized it with the diversity of actors and the music, as well as the technology. I also really like how they expanded the character of Ofglen; I wasn't expecting that storyline to go where it did.

I haven't seen the earlier movie adaptation of it, but will look for it.

I've been hearing really good reviews from friends about the tv adaptation.
Here is a trailer of the movie.

I thought it was good. You can see parallels between the show and the world today. Not really sure how they'll continue Season 2 though.

The show is amazingly good. I went in not knowing what to expect and was quite pleasantly surprised. It's disturbing, and exciting, and terrifyingly possible all at once.

I read the book right before 9/11 so it was at the top of my mind that day. I want to watch the series, just haven't gotten to it yet.
