Coming from the University of Georgia where the Greek system is huge, I wouuld love to see chapters in the South like Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, South Carolina. I love it that we have such huge and thriving chapters in FL. I know that UGA chapter (Psi) will be back to its feet soon and hope that one day DPhiE will be able to flourish down in the southern part of US.

Tammy--Unfortunately every school you mentioned would require us to have a house to be successful and the organization just doesn't have those kind of resources. If you hear of opoprtunities at schools where a house is not a necessity, let the the Dir. of Expansion know!

In terms of the mention of the west coast, I do not believe that is a priority for the organization at this time, given the possiblity of the HQ relocating. I can say, fairly confidently, that rechartering closed chapters, particularly single letter chapters, is something the organization has been interested in over the past few years.

Expansion is fun isn't it?

The expansion ideas sound great!

I'd love to see more chapters in southern NJ. Rutgers-Camden closed their chapter years and years ago. Would love to see a chapter there again but it's not a very big school and there are a lot of commuters.

Temple has not been open for expansion/extension in many years - there are 3 NPC groups there and things are status quo - same # of pnm's going through and not a need for a 4th group anytime soon but it is a dormant chapter so would love to be there as well!

Temple

Heard from an alum there that MAYBE this could be the year they vote to actually expand. Fingers crossed.

We did. It went dormant in 1991. I know because I was there for recruitment and got my first flat tire (age 24) and it was in a BAD neighborhood nearby. The campus is not open for extension and when it is, the NPC groups not currently represented on the campus will be eligible to submit for consideration. If you have other questions, please PM me. Thanks.

A certain DC school's Panhel has voted for expansion. Though it's kind of superficial, I really love DPhiE's motto and philanthropy...is there any chance of a new chapter starting up in the Washington area?

I am not sure what the official word is--but I'd love to see that happen. Especially if it would be a re-chatering..

This thread is so old but I'd like to reopen the discussion.

Personally as a Canadian sister, I would love to see our UBC chapter reopen, along with a new chapter at Western University in Ontario. They have a big Greek system and I think we would fit right in!

As for American schools: Washington, FSU, UCLA, USC, UT would be amazing.

IHQ have done a great job with expansion over the past decade, here's hoping the momentum continues.

CANADA

so I recently discovered that there are two Canadian schools currently open for expansion! Lethbridge College in Alberta and Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario! I know many have stated before they'd like to see more Canadian chapters - here's our chance!!!
