Just re-read this thread and it made me smile.

I like that I got to find out what CurlyGirl pledged.

I have to admit that the latest trend in Recruitment stories is pretty disappointing. I respect the need for privacy during the actual recruitment and maybe even for those who are currently actives, BUT for all the "old timers" out there, I don't think it matters whether or not you tell us the specific details.

Thanks for bumping this...

Cool Nearly 7 Years Later... who knew?!

Hello to everyone out there in GC...

I somehow came across this thread today, and it brought back so many memories.

It's been nearly 7 years since I first pledged, and I'm happy to report that I'm now getting involved as an alum. I'm on an advisory board, working with current Kappas, and am looking forward to everything it's going to bring.

I'm going to re-read this entire thread tonight at home, but for now just wanted to say I'm so happy this has become a wonderful resource for PNMs, and a way for alums to look back.

PS- I can't believe it has nearly 54,000 views! Wow!

Hey Curlygirly! 7 years ago, I didn't even know there was such a thing as GC. I've read your story more than once and feel as if I know you. I've wondered where and how you are. It's great to hear from you!

I totally agree!!! Thanks for posting your rush experience in so much detail! I think it's made me more excite for rush, as opposed to nervous and just generally worried. I think many of us Sophomore rushees feel like we're doomed to a very competitive, and by extension, less fun rush experience and this totally changed my mind. Go Gators!!! ^_^

a successful recruitment is never guaranteed to anyone, but i do feel that if you truly go in with an open mind , are happy to accept all invitations, have recommendations to each chapter, have competitive grades , some college activites and give each chapter a fair shake, you stand the best chance as a non-freshman to receive a bid.

yeah, i'm basically trying to cover all those bases. I'm very impartial since I don't know many greek girls here on campus so I don't know about an reputations or anything. I think I'd accept a bid from any chapter as long as I felt comfortable with the sisters.

I know this was a very long time ago...BUT

Thank you so much for sharing your story! Ive spent the last hour or so reading it and prepping myself for rush.

You had such wonderful support and I can only hope I have such helpful friends when I experience rush in a few short weeks!

This one needs a bump.

If you're going through recruitment (at UF or elsewhere), I'd suggest reading it.

Something like 8 years later and it's still awesome.

still lovin' it!

Hello Ladies!

Every year around recruitment I'm reminded of this thread, and it always brings a smile to my face. How lucky to be able to relive recruitment - without ACTUALLY reliving recruitment! haha.

I'm headed to the Kappa Leadership Academy this year as an alumni, and I'm very excited.... just goes to show you, you never know where joining a chapter will lead you.

That's so exciting! One of my good friends is going this year! If you get a chance, say hi to the collegiate from Eta Epsilon!
