Did Phi Mu ever colonize outside of Georgia as The Philomathean Literary Society? I was reading an article on the first women admitted to Pitt, and there was mention of the Society. I think that Phi Mu was one of the early sororities at Pitt, and I was wondering.

The Beta Theta chapter of Phi Mu at the University of Pittsburgh was installed September 22, 1920 with nine charter members. It was originally the local sorority Alpha Mu. Declining interest in sororities led to suspension of chapter operations May 1961.
From what I could find, they changed to greek letters before establishing a second chapter, much like adpi did. Looks like the name change occurred in 1904.
