Considering that Treetops has been under financial duress for a long period of time (Google Treetops Resort Bankruptcy), they have even more incentive to try to get all the money they can. Looking at the damage pictures, you can see how dated the decor was -- looks like it had been a long time since any updates or redecorating had been done.
