I know this is an old post but I, too, had this Barbie!
There are too many posts in this thread to go back and read, but teh whole Barbie has a last name thing.... well yeah. The doll was named after the creator's daughter, Barbara Roberts.

Does anyone remember Pregnant Barbie? She came with a big stomach with a door in it, you opened up the door, took out a baby doll, and her stomach went back to normal. Freaked me out.
