This is EXCELLENT! If she lists both on her card tonight she should be sporting a set of letters tomorrow!! Make sure she goes into the parties with an open mind (especially with the one that she has not been fond of) because preference can be a huge game changer and the fact is both of these houses are willing to extend her a bid somewhere on their list or she would not be going to their pref party.

Good Morning! Our daughter is on the roller coaster... Got her first choice that she has loved from day one, Yeah!. Another house that she thinks she could be happy in and the only house she has been to that she has not felt a connection with, hmmm. She will have some decisions to make tonight. I advised to try to look at house three with fresh eyes, see if there is something there she missed before, then go with her gut. It's a make it work moment.

Thanks for all the support and great advice everyone! Celebrating with those of you who had daughters at Pref day today. Our daughter also had 3 houses. Exactly the same situation as NUalumMUmom--the house she fell in love with from day one, plus a house she really likes, and another where she hasn't felt a connection. So she has an important choice ahead.

Wonderful to connect with other Moms here. I can't believe what an emotional, exhausting week this has been for me. I knew it might be that way for our daughter but I didn't anticipate how intensely it would impact me.
Whatever happens I know that putting herself out there in this way during recruitment has been such an important step in making her own life at Mizzou. Best of luck to all of our daughters!

Just can't wait to see how she feels after a full schedule of pref invites! What a lucky PNM! Here's to hoping she feels a connection with all of them and remembers to look at the other PNM's for potential sisters and friends.

Glad to hear all of your daughters have pref invites today. Pref was always my favorite day. All of the chapters at Mizzou are fantastic, and with their size, there will be sisters to connect with. It may just take more than a few crazy, hectic (and HOT) days during recruitment to find them. I wish all the best for these young ladies!

This is true. I didn't meet my best friend in my sorority until 8 or 9 weeks of membership and we were thick as thieves.

The member you fall in love with during recruitment may be a senior, and marginally involved...just a very, very good rusher, or someone who will be studying abroad next semester, student teaching, etc. Your best friends --the ones that make your experience so special -- will be found throughout the chapter. You may not have met them yet and in fact may well be in the member class YOU rush next year.

Tell your daughters to list all of their options, unless they would absolutely rather be independent. If they maximize, they should be celebrating tomorrow.

Also, you Mizzou moms have been terrific! Great attitudes and I suspect the PNM apples haven't fallen far from the trees. Good luck!
