Alpha Gamma Delta Fire- University of Michigan

It's made the news so... this is the chapter my daughter's friend is in so we got a call at 3:30 am and I've been helping manage getting support out to them. All of the women are safe and we have a support team already on the road to assist them with all of their needs.

I'm glad to hear everyone is safe, and hopefully no injuries either.

I'm glad everyone is OK!

I was last in that house for Pref. night (or Final Desserts as we called it then) more years ago than I'm going to admit. It's a very pretty house.

Was that before or after the 1984 fire? The 1984 fire was far more devastating to the structure.

As a testament to the importance of fire drills-

Ann Arbor Assistant Fire Chief Ellen Taylor said everyone was able to get out of the building safely, without any injuries.

“All the credit needs to go to the sorority here because they are very proactive in fire safety and they’re doing drills and they’ve got lists, I mean, this was almost like a drill to them and they did very well,” Taylor told WWJ’s Ron Dewey.

I was told this morning that during their last fire drill, they even put up barriers to some egress points to make the women think about other ways they could get out.
