Lousiana State University
Colony recruitment for Alpha Phi's recolonization of our LSU-Delta Tau chapter is from September 3-12, 2013!
Good luck!

I just saw a friend post a pic from LSU Alpha Phi's Facebook page.
The description said:
"Introducing the 200 beautiful Founding Members of Alpha Phi at LSU!!! A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, Greek Advisors, Team Alpha Phi, Lauren Landry, and everyone else who helped make our recruitment such a success! We can't wait to see everyone at bid day tomorrow!!!"
Just trying to understand the process.....will all 200 of these founding members get bids?
Is that big for LSU? Thanks!

The 200 mentioned in the post are the PNMs who received and accepted bids to
Alpha Phi.
Often, a colonizing sorority will try to get near to average chapter size (basically add all the sorority members up and divide by the number of sororities). I do not know what average chapter size is at LSU.

Thanks for the explanation. I couldn't comprehend the cruelty of posting that pic of "founding members" and then having bid day the next day where some might not get a bid.
Again, I am new to this and have oh so much to learn. But thanks to GC I am!

Looks like APhi did the same thing at LSU as they did at Alabama: hold a pref night and then surprise all pref attendees with bids. That's why there's a pic of all the chapter founders a day before "bid day." Bid day will be another type of party.

In the Facebook picture, it looked like they were all holding up their bid cards. Congratulations to all of our new sisters.

I saw the pic on the Phi Mu facebook page. My daughter was a Phi Mu at LSU. 200 is probably about the average chapter size there. From what I have seen it seems like the other sororities have been very supportive of Alpha Phi.

I was in Baton rouge yesterday ( shopping not at the game) saw lots of cute girls around town with Alpha Phi letters. We drove down sorority row all the sororities had signs up welcoming them. Are they in one of the empty houses or are they still unhoused? I looked but I didn't see their letters on any of the houses but maybe they are still renovating?
