Quota was definitely 130. AOII got 155 not 156 like the article says.
Everyone did really well! Very exciting!

Anybody know how many Chi Omega took? The oldest and one of the most popular sororities at Ole Miss, they were the only one in the article I didn't see numbers listed for. Mind blowing numbers altogether I say!!

I'm so tired I can't talk. It's been a very exciting day!

I'm very confused about all the quota additions. If quota is determined by the number of women attending pref parties divided by the number of houses, then where do all the extra women come from? I've also just read a thread that said that quota additions could not be more that 5% of quota. Most houses took way more than that.
So confusing!

The chapters with the most NMs generally had more women at prefs which means there were more women left on their list after quota was reached to be added as QAs. I say that is "generally" what happens because weak chapters can miss quota even with large numbers at pref and strong chapters can get a bunch of QAs. Quota is determined in such a way that the majority of women get a bid. The unmatched women have to go to a chapter they preffed, thus the chapters with the largest bid lists usually have the most QAs.

Here are a couple of YouTube videos from today. The number I heard from Kappa was 147 and I think this is in the ballpark. I know we ordered 130 jerseys and didn't have enough for all the NMs.

And I believe the 5% rule is no longer in effect.

RFM specialists try to set quota at the highest number so that all chapters make quota, if possible. Sometimes setting it just a few numbers higher will have 3 or more chapters having to snap bid...usually very strong chapters that had smaller numbers at pref due to past recruiting strength statistics.
And then you still have all of the PNMs left who have maximized their options and would go bidless if QA's were not added.
Remember that another round of recruitment was added this year. Past party rounds were 9 6 3 in years past and this year were 10 8 5 2...so lots of estimating and adjustments had to be made this year.

This is probably a huge factor since the previous numbers would essentially be invalid. The carry figures for some groups may have been too small and for some too big. Next year will be a little easier, but figures are usually based on 3 years of data making the next couple years a continued guessing game.

I'd like to be an RFM specialist some time, but not at Ole Miss! She would either need to be psychic or willing to throw a dart at a wall.
