Phi Mu shot in the face by ex-boyfriend

One of my sisters just posted about this on Facebook. Awful

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...nded-dead.html

Quote:
A 21-year-old man critically wounded his college honors student ex-girlfriend and killed her new boyfriend, then turned a gun on himself in a murder-suicide that has shocked the small-town campus of Salisbury University in Maryland.

Police say Ryan Shallue became increasingly disturbed after his high school girlfriend Kristen Loetz, 19, dumped him four months ago. She had just started her sophomore year of college. Shallue began stalking her and bought a gun two weeks ago.

On Wednesday night, he showed up at Loetz's off-campus house, where he discovered her with 20-year-old Charles 'CJ' Abbott. When Shallue began fighting with Loetz, Abbott tried to intervene, police said.

Oh no! This is so tragic and sad. Many prayers to the families and a speedy recovering for this young lady.

Sad. Something similar (attempted murder but the suicide was completed) happened to someone I know in the 1990s.

Using descriptors like sorority membership and college honors is common. I want journalists (article writers) to be careful not to unintentionally convey "college honors" makes this sadder and more shocking and senseless than if she was non-honors.

I agree with this statement. It's sad because it is sad--not because she was a good student. I re-posted the video for the Dean talking on my FB and asked for prayers. I hate to see anything like this. Prayers are going out to my sister.
