A Rugrats Recruitment Story
So before I tell my story, I want to apologize to everyone ahead of time because I am awful at telling stories and I am afraid I won’t make mine all that exciting. I am going to be using the Rugrats obviously as the chapters to keep anonymity and I will not be saying which school I attend either! =) I hope you guys enjoy the story nonetheless.
I also wanted to thank everyone for being nice and answering my questions when I had them
There are six sororities on my campus.
Angelica
Susie
Phil
Lil
Chuckie
Tommy
Please let me know if these colors are hard to read, I don't want to blind anyone or anything.

Day 1:
I wish that I could say I remember every single detail but alas, because it’s been awhile my memory is a bit fuzzy. I remember getting to the area where everyone was supposed to meet to find out which group they are in for the weekend, and I talked to a few other girls while waiting in line but sadly we were not in the same group so I hardly saw them the rest of recruitment.
I remember feeling very nervous before meeting the first group, though I told myself beforehand to be myself and smile because everyone was just as nervous I am sure. The first group I met (I believe, this is where I have those fuzzy moments because I can’t remember the order I saw everyone in!) was Tommy , I don’t really recall any of the conversations that I had with any of the women but I remember that they were really nice. I didn’t really connect with any of them, but I still enjoyed everything.
Second, was Phil! I had a harder time with conversations, I don’t know if it was because somehow my nervousness escalated between rooms or if the woman I was talking with was just as nervous as I was. I remember talking about things I liked to do, but I felt like there wasn’t that spark. I remember having such a weird conversation about going to some place and then accidentally confusing them because they thought I was talking about something totally different! I was really embarrassed and felt bad because I didn’t want to seem extremely awkward. I still had a good time with them, and I thought everyone was super friendly. I just didn’t feel too great leaving because I definitely was awkward.
Third was Chuckie, when I met the first women that talked to me we had an instant connection over our interests in books, movies and interests. I felt like I was so much more relaxed here, we talked for quite some time before I talked to two other girls who were just as into the things I was. I had such a fun time and I remember when it was time to leave I was really bummed because the conversations were just a lot of fun. I definitely wanted to and hoped to return the next day
I remember feeling as I left how happy I was that I didn’t let my bit of an awkward start affect me from then on. I told myself to just have a fun time!
Angelica– I loved talking to everyone here as well. I connected with a few of the women right away, there was never a pause in the conversation or a moment of silence because we were always talking whether it be what we love to do in our spare time, or anything. I definitely wanted to return the next day.
Susie – I don’t remember much except that everyone was really nice.
Lil – Once again I felt like I connected with a lot of the women and they were also friendly. I don’t remember a lot of the conversations but I remember after leaving since they were the last group I met that I was very excited and pleased.
Day one was officially through, and while I had a rough start I was so happy and pleased with how the day ended. I honestly would have been happy going back to any of the sororities because I wanted to get to know all of them better! I had no bad feelings about any of them, and would have been happy to be asked back to any of them! Yes, even the ones where I felt extremely awkward in, because even though I felt awkward in them, I thought that they were and are very wonderful.
Day 1 rankings:
Chuckie
Angelica
Lil
Susie
Tommy
Phil

I can't wait to find out how recruitment went for you -- I remember back in the fall when you were worried about correcting something with the Greek Life office!

Day Two
When I got back to the meeting place to see what my schedule was like, I was anxious and excited because I wasn’t told that I didn’t need to come which meant that I was invited back! At this point I didn’t really care how many invited me back, I just had a few hopes with who invited me back. When I got my schedule it turned out I only got one invite.
Just one, but the one that asked me back was the one that was one of my favorites! Chuckie!!!! So, while for a moment I was kind of sad that no one else invited me back, I was ecstatic that the Chuckiewas the one to do it! I also knew it only takes one.
When I got to their house, all of them were really excited to meet everybody (and were super friendly! I love using that word, because it’s true.) I really loved learning about their philanthropy, and I talked some more with a few other women, I got a new group of women compared to who I saw on the first day. I had a good conversation. I really wanted to come back to Chuckie the next day.
I was so worried though after I left that I would not get invited back since I only was invited to one house on day two. So I went home and hoped for the best.

Day 3:
So, I received no phone call, good sign.
I arrived back at the meeting place, already knew where I was going to be going. I was so excited to go back, I wasn’t nervous at all this time. I only talked to one person this time, and I really connected with her instantly. I also saw how much everyone loved one another, and on the way out I almost fell in the house and I have to say that I was able to catch my fall and I did it with grace because no one noticed! Could you imagine if I totally ate it and fell on all the girls in front of me? That could have been extremely disastrous.
I went back to do my ranking and all that, I knew that this place was the right place for me. I couldn’t imagine myself being in any other place.
Ranking:
Chuckie
. . .
So the next day arrives
I don’t get a phone call saying that I did not get a bid, or that I shouldn't show up… so I knew that I had received a bid. .
I got a bid from...Chuckie!

Congratulations! This story is a good example of how it only takes one. So many women drop out if they only receive one invite, and miss out on a chance to be a part of a great sisterhood! Glad for your happy ending and love the theme, Rugrats was one of my favorite shows.

Congratulations!
I agree that this is a great example of "it only takes one," and really encouraging to girls who experience cuts early in the process.
Sounds like you have been enjoying your sisterhood -- all the best to you!
