Saw your post before it was deleted.
It doesn't sound like anything serious. What I believe is probably happening is that the pressure has dropped because the temperature has dropped. If the tires "look right" (all 4 look the same, no obvious bulging or sagging), it's OK to drive at city speeds for short periods. These new tire pressure sensors are known for being sensitive and giving false alarms.
I would suggest having DD buy a tire pressure gauge at Wal-Mart. It's cheap and good to keep in the car anyway. Preferably one with a round gauge and a short hose to press into the valve stem, but a pop-out stick type is OK too. Depending on the result, she can stop by any self serve station with an air pump. Usually 50 cents or a dollar for air.
The recommended pressure should be printed on the tire itself, and can also be found in the owner's manual and often on a label inside the driver's door. Generally should be between 32 and 36 psi, but anything above 28 is safe with the limitations as mentioned above.
If this is more than she wants to tackle, and she doesn't want to go to the place mentioned above, I'm going to Oxford this afternoon. PM me and I will help her or get my DD's boyfriend to help her.

Awww....y'all are wonderful!

She did stop at self serve station last night to put air in (that we taught her to do and she's comfy with doing) but didn't have an air gauge attached to the front end of the air pump like the ones we had used previously. She's familiar with tire gauges and bought one at WalMart after stopping at the self serve and said she would look at it more on Saturday. (I didn't put a tire gauge in the glove box because we just bought NEW tires in August!!) I had told her she would likely be fine just driving around Oxford a little until she could look at it further. She can handle checking that and adding air on her own.

I just started thinking while TRYING to go to sleep last night, what if it's more than that and wanted to tell her some options. Thank you all so much!!! <3

She's good. Don't worry, Mom.

Is the ADPi colony considered a chapter for purposes of dividing to get the initial estimate of quota? I know they're not participating in pref round.

All of the ADPi women on campus keep saying that because of them, quota will be lowered. Does that mean that less girls will receive bids so that those girls will consider joining the colony?

NO. Quota will still be (to keep it simple) # of girls at pref divided by number of sororities. No one is going to be "buffaloed" into joining a colony. Quota won't be set until after the girls who decide to pursue ADPi drop out of regular rush.

I agree this is how the basic formula works. It's unusual in this case that the PNM pool is growing at about the same rate (8.6%) as the rate of increase in sororities (11.1%). If they don't make an adjustment for ADPi, then quota is going to be around 130, which works against what I believe is a generally held desire for more manageable pledge class and chapter sizes.
On the other hand, if they hold quota closer to last year's 120 number (not saying they will), then about 100 PNMs would, in effect, be left with the colony as their only viable option.

This is just NOT TRUE. please do not spread this kind of misinformation around. Rush at Ole Miss is stressful enough without this to mislead and worry PNMs and moms.

If someone posted this already, I apologize. But here's an article about Alabama's recent rush and alumnae allegedly encouraging sororities not to accept an African American girl. Again I'm new to Ole Miss, but I do know there are traditionally African-American greek organizations at Ole Miss. But do any of the traditionally white sororities/fraternities have any African Americans? I know Ole Miss had an African American homecoming queen last year. Just wondering about the Greek world. Thanks.

And while this is UA's college student paper, it is getting negative media coverage in other national media.

There have been African American members of NPC sororities at Ole Miss. My own chapter of Theta at Ole Miss pledged an African American member several years ago.

Kimbrely Dandridge was the first African-American woman to be elected Associated Student Body president one or two years ago. She is a proud member of Phi Mu.

These are the only girls that I am personally familiar with. Maybe Mary Poppins can help us out if I missed anyone.

Good to know there have at least been a few African-American members of NPC sororities at Ole Miss. I just saw in the other thread that the story has made it to USA Today.

I wonder if the national attention from this will put any schools that have yet to undergo recruitment this fall (i.e. Ole Miss) under more scrutiny from chapter headquarters as well as university administrations???

I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully there won't be too much of a whiplash effect and dirty rushing in a desperate attempt to "get her."
"Chosen on her merits" is the goal.

Several chapters at Ole Miss currently have AA members. I understand that the Theta chapter has several AA members.

Having said that, there are some sorority chapters at Ole Miss that have never pledged an African American PNM. Personally, I would expect that those chapters might have some extra scrutiny this year, but not the NPC system as a whole. Just my own opinion....
