No technically that is not the case. Vanessa Williams was Miss New York when she was crowned

Stumbled on this thread seeing who was Greek in the Miss America pageant and wanted to add that Miss New York is a Pi Phi from Auburn.

ahh - Vanessa Williams shows up as a winner on one list but not on the other list for Miss America 1984 you're right. Still its been almost 30 years.

I just checked the sister site and yes, she is! She initiated in 2007 and is now an alum!
