Painted Letters

At the school I go to, on bid day, all the sororities have 8 ft tall letters cut out of wood and painted. They take pictures in front of them. As a present, im making a friend who is a DG a mini version of these. I am planning on having the letters 4 ft tall, and I will paint them. The thing I dont know yet is a color scheme/pattern. Is there any particular pattern yall think would work well for this?

Thanks in advance

If you could emulate a Lily Pulitzer pattern, that'd probably go over well.

You could also do something with anchors all over it, or just something nautical like waves, shells, beach, etc. I would go on someplace like spoonflower.com, choose a pattern, and then project it onto the letters you're making and trace from there.

Good luck! That is one AWESOME present.
