I like Dr. Phil.
BTW, he did say on one of Oprah's shows that he did have some lifestyle issues that he worked through a few years back.

Dr. Phil helped Oprah through her trial a few years back. She said that she thought that he could help her viewers and he became a regular. He is no nonsense in his approach as opposed to paralysis through analysis or whatever that expression is that he has used. He seems to help people so that's a good thing in my opinion.

I like Dr. Phil. A lot of peoplpe say he's just stating the obvious when peole ask him for help, but most of the people asking need to be told the obvious. Other therapists coddle them, and tell them to compromise, or blame their parents. He makes it the responsabiltiy, as it should be in a lot cases. So many of his guests are just so whiny, he doesn't take their crap. Good for him.

Dr. Phil just tells it like it is. Some people have been babied so much, they can't handle the truth.

My question is, why do people want to go on national televison and tell the world their issues? I don't like Dr. Phil, not because he tells it like it is, but because he has this "I am always right, and if you don't take my advice screw you" kind of air to him. Dr. Phil, you're not always right, you can't fix people in a hour!
And people, if you think Dr. Phi can fix you and do it all in an hour, then you're dellusional.

I like Dr. Phil, people always want therapists to agree with them and take their side when they really need a kick in their ass.
Also, Dr. Phil also arranges private counseling with the people that appear on his show in the state that they live in, if needed, so even he knows an hour on tv won't solve their problems.

LMAO. I'm right there with you, LeslieAGD! Every psych or sociology professor I've ever had considers Dr. Phil to be utterly ridiculous. Even my therapist thinks he's a huge joke. My therapist tells me like it is, but she doesn't aim to totally humiliate me or make me look like I'm the worst person in the world. I guess some people could like him, but I'd sneak into his house with a baseball bat if he were my shrink... "...But officer, I was releasing tension and finding my happy place!"
