Well if I was this kid's daddy, I would've taken it one step further and beat his behind while playing the soundtrack to Blazing Saddles, and make lyrics appropriate to the situation.

The young man looked fearful of other men in authority. A woman can only do so much with our young black children... But when a man with authority steps in, it is a whole 'nother ballgame...

My little 3.5 y/o nephew shapes up when his father steps into the picture... Of course, my brother (his father) had to spank my nephew once or twice. I found a different way of disciplining my nephew when I am around, though...

I agree. There is definately some attention and discipline lacking in his life.
