Loyola (Chicago) had a record recruitment, reportedly.
"Sorority recruitment numbers set record with 257 new members . . .
A record 330 women registered for sorority recruitment this year . . . In the past three years alone, sororities at Loyola have doubled their numbers."

The schools in Chicago seem to all be doing well. DePaul can't seem to expand fast enough to keep the chapter sizes relatively small. And if they built some sort of housing (actual houses is probably out of the question, but dedicated dorms?) would probably cause them to EXPLODE.

Quota at Indiana State Fall 2012 = 15. Still no word on Gamma Phi Beta or final numbers for AOPi. COB must still be going on. Most chapters are above quota it seems.

The information about Alpha Phi below is not correct. They were on campus when I was there (1996-2000) and in 2001 (when my sister was there) they did a revitalization (one of those procedures where you come in, grant alumnae status to current members and rerecruit without closing). Here's the article: http://www.dukechronicle.com/article...be-right-track
Alpha Phi originally recolonized in 1994, per this article: http://www.dukechronicle.com/article...ional-sorority
So, Alpha Phi should look more like 1935-1970/1994-2001/2001.

In notes I've written from posts/articles I've read, the Alpha Phi Duke Chapter revitalization/recolonization did not become final/official until October 26, 2003.
Perhaps that's the day the university "recognized " them as "being" an official chapter because they finally had the proper number of women? Please correct my info if someone knows more...

Actually, if you make ALL the members alumnae, it's still considered a recolonization. If you leave the current members in BUT national basically comes in to rush and run things, and the current members and newest members all are on the same level, it's a revitalization. No doubt a positive "spin" was trying to be put on this because it was only 7 years after the first recolonization. No excuse for incorrect terminology, however.

I use the installation date rather than the colonization date, so I believe it is 2003.

Irishpipes, Just an FYI for your records, The University of Texas just raised chapter total to 208. That's an increase in the last 2 years of 43. 165 2010, 185-2011 208-2012 Great to see Greek Life growing at UT.

Dare I even ask the question? Is it time for expansion at UT?

Tomorrow is the last day women can register for recruitment at IU. This is the first year they have tried this short of a time period for sign-ups. I've been told that they will NOT accept any late sign-ups.
And because Indiana is such an odd recruitment school, the sororities are also getting their quotas calculated and submitted.

Isn't space for housing an issue at the University of Texas? I think I've seen that discussed somewhere.
Also, I don't blame IU for doing things the way they are this year.
