I was talking to a fellow student yesterday about the ongoing administrative situation going on at our college, roots of the problem, solutions etc., I said to him in reference to summing up the problem in a nutshell "the apple core is rotten". It came out of nowhere but after I said it, the metaphor stuck in my head and I realized I said so much in those 5 words.
