Former National President Pat Saul Obituary

It is with deep sympathy that I share this obituary. Pat was an amazing sister and she will be deeply missed.
============================

SAUL, Patricia D.

Patricia D. Saul (Mrs. Michael B. Saul) 71, died November 17 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born in New Rochelle, NY, on December 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Ann Dichkewich. She attended local schools and the University of Connecticut, where she majored in nursing for two years.

She married Michael B. Saul, who survives her, on August 5, 1961, and resided in Wallingford, CT for over thirty years. She was a self-employed bookkeeper, and enjoyed working with community organizations. She was a Girl Scout leader, office manager of Total Performance and treasurer of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Retiring to Vermont in 1997, Mrs. Saul was a past national president and district director of Gamma Sigma Sigma, the women's national service sorority. She is past president of the Nutmeg Alumni Chapter in Connecticut and the Central New England Alumni Chapter. Her work with the Episcopal Diocese in both Connecticut and Vermont included heading the Central Connecticut Deanery and the Southeast Vermont Deanery. She was treasurer of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chester. Her community service included several terms on the Chester, VT Zoning Board of Adjustment. Active in the Order of the Eastern Star, she is a past Worthy Matron of Mizpah Chapter No. 40 in Chester and Worthy Matron of Alpha Chapter No. 53 in Bellows Falls. Mrs. Saul is survived by her husband and three children, Thomas B. Saul of Wallingford, CT; Mrs. Victoria Ann Marden of Durham, CT; and Mrs. Roberta M. Diamondstone-White of Marlboro, VT. Her five grandchildren are Aubrey Marie Saul and Peter Brandon Saul, both of Wallingford, CT; and Brian Michael White, Amanda Mae White and Karl John White, all of Marlboro, VT.

The funeral will be held on Dec. 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chester. The Rev. Paul Brannock-Wanter, Rector, will preside. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Luke's Memorial Garden Fund, St. Luke's Church, PO Box 8, Chester, VT 05143.
