Less bids during spring?

Is true that Fraternities give less bids during the Spring? I know for a fact that there are less rushees during the Spring? Less rushees, more selective? Doesn't make sense.

If 200 people rush in the fall, they may give 50 bids. If 35 people rush in the spring, they are incapable of giving 50 bids.

33girl said "50 bids" in fall and "50 bids" in spring. Is that true that they try to give the same amount of bids and the fall

And you don't get it, either. Bless your heart.

There are no set bid numbers like in sorority recruitment.
"In general, rule of thumb, there will be more focus on recruitment in the Fall. The recruitment chair will be at this strongest with knowledge and you would know how many people have left. The amount of bids given out can vary so much. You can have x number graduate in the spring and give out x bids or you can want the fraternity to grow and give out more. There is no set quota or really anyway of knowing from campus to campus. If the person is a good fit for the fraternity, no matter what time, they would have a hard time turning them away."

Quote from my boyfriend who is an alum of a fraternity.

There is no humanly possible way of knowing. Our best guess is that fraternity rush is going to be more focused in the Fall, however, if you fit really well they could bid you. If their recruitment sucked in the Fall, they could bid you. If they want to become a bigger chapter, they could bid you. There isn't a solid way of knowing.

Go through see how it goes.

Imagine the Summer rush for those larger SEC schools ... I heard some UF houses had pledges during the summer.

Of course, the whole thing can be turned on its head if you're at a campus that defers recruitment for freshmen until 2nd semester.

"Let's eat, Grandma!" / "Let's eat Grandma!"

Punctuation: It saves old women's lives.
