Texas A&M Recruitment as a Junior...
I know, I know...
Going through rush as a junior is generally frowned upon...
But my Freshman and Sophomore year have been spent on what's called "Blinn TEAM" which is a two year program where you're part time A&M and part time at the local junior college, so I've been ineligible.
I'd REALLY love to rush next fall, but I'll be a junior and haven't heard many positive things about going through with that...
Any A&M sorority members who care to offer any advice? It'd be so appreciated!!

Does Blinn have a campus in College Station or do you have to attend classes in Brenham?

The threads posted talk about it being near-impossible for a junior to rush there, but then it says "because you have been a student there for two years". Does that mean it's slightly less difficult for a transfer (which is, in effect, the OP's case)?

I am not going to lie, it is tougher as a junior. However I have known plenty of girls at A&M who have had successful rushes as upperclassmen, this includes me. I was a transfer to A&M from a private school that had no NPC sororities. I rushed as a junior, and couldn't have been happier with the house I joined. The best thing to do is make sure you have good recs, and follow it all the way through. Also, do you have any friends already at A&M that are currently sorority members? Maybe they can offer you advise, as well as introduce you to some of their other sisters.

Whoa! Old Blinn has grown up and out!
This sounds like the program that Georgia Southern U has with East Georgia College. The students in it go to all their classes at GSU and are guaranteed admission to that school if they have a 2.0 (I think) after 30 hours. They can not, though, rush or play varsity athletics although they can be in any other activities.

I know, right?
I'm not sure about A&M, but I think UT does something similar. I don't believe that anything is "guaranteed" but your chances of getting into the flagship school are better Sophomore year if you attend one of the satellite schools (UTSA, UTD, UTA, etc...) freshman year and prove yourself.

I rushed 20 years ago as a junior, I am sure things have changed a bit since then  (I was not a transfer though). I can tell you that you will need a good GPA to be competitive with the other juniors rushing. When I went through each sorority was allowed 3 "free" juniors, not sure about how they are counted now. "Frowned upon" is not really the right wording. Juniors generally have an uphill battle at competitive schools, but I don't think anyone would discourage a junior from going through recruitment, just to be realistic about your possible outcomes and prepared for rejection.
