We usually had an All Greek Mixer on Bid Night.
I have mixed feelings about it, though. The sorority whose bid you didn't accept would sometimes be nasty to a newly bidded Alpha, or hang on them, crying. Either way, it was embarrassing, as emotions were still running high.

That sounds absolutely perfect and awesome in theory, but (as in the above example) potentially dicey in practice.

Bringing this back to the top because I love the term "back-ups."
If only more Campus Panhellenics and Rho Whatevers would use this terminology instead of "put the ones you want to keep at the top and the ones you want to cut at the bottom" there would be fewer girls confused and upset by the chapters on their invite list.
PNMs- you do not cut chapters. You will rank your favorites at the top, and any remaining chapters become your "back-ups." If all your favorites invite you back then you will go to those chapters the next day. If any of your favorites do not invite you back, your back-ups come into play in the order that you have them listed. Note that even your back ups have to invite you back for them to appear on your schedule.
Getting your bottom ranked chapter means that not enough groups ahead of that one invited you back.

PNMs, please consider it this way.... would you rather have an opportunity to give a chapter that you might not have clicked with another look and have a full schedule of parties? or would you rather have only a partial schedule?

I always tell PNMs that you only get to cut chapters if you are so sought after that they all want you.
I hate, hate, hate "mutual selection" because it's not really that mutual. The sororities always hold more power.

Question on PNM rankings.
Let's say it's the end of Round-before-pref (sisterhood, or skit, or whatever your campus calls it), where there were 6 parties. The PNMs go to rank for the final part, Pref, where they can go to 2 sororities.
Do they list just 2 in order of preference?
Or do they list all 6?

They list their top two untangled and then rank the remaining four in order of preference.

Thanks! (although I'm not sure what you mean by untangled)
I did have a former Panhel adviser confirm that a few minutes ago.

Sorry, I meant "unranked"--phone must have autocorrected to "untangled."
