Rushing ADPi... No Rec Letter :(
So I'm going to be rushing in about a month and I really want to plege ADPi. I'm keeping an open mind about the 4 other sororities at my school but ADPi is the one that I really have my heart set on. The problem is, is that I don't know a single ADPi legacy, so therefore I do not have one rec letter. I know several legacies that aren't ADPi but are willing to write letters for me, so will it be all right if they send the letter in or should I scour the internet for a legacy who will be willing to write me one from ADPi?

So much here. Where to begin?
First, an alumna of ADPi must write the rec letter. A legacy is the daughter, granddaughter or sister of a member. Your terminology is mixed up. An alumna is a woman who has been initiated into a sorority and is no longer in college. And no, a non-member may not write your rec.
Second, you are setting yourself up for major disappointment by only focusing on one chapter. Each day of recruitment the chapters must narrow their list down further. It could happen that other girls going through recruitment stand out more than you and fall higher on the list thereby meaning that you are cut. You are strongly advised to look for positives in all the chapters.
Finally, depending on where you will be attending college, not having a rec will negatively impact your ability to get a bid. Continue to network to find an ADPi alumna.
ETA: Sorry, ADPis. Just realized that this was posted in your forum. Please forgive the crash.

Lane swerving, but you can't have your heart set on one group and have an open mind at the same time. Pick one, preferrably (for your sake) the latter.

Sorry about my incorrect terminology... I'm still getting the hang of everything.

hsundber Contact you local Panhellenic for an ADPi rec. Ask teachers , neighbors, or people from church. If you live in the South, you probably are tripping over us and don't know it. If not we are everywhere.
I will go ahead and say that no one on this board will write a rec for a total stranger, so don't ask.

Ask those who were willing to write you a letter if they know any ADPi's... Most of us have a few friends outside our own sorority...

No atrianglepi don't worry, I'm completely aware of the major faux pas that it is to ask complete strangers to write rec letters for you... I wouldn't feel right about it haha. But thank you everyone for your help! I'm actually having some luck now finding people
