Is this possible or no?

Well I'm moving to FL in the summer and im going to TCC for a year. (i'm currently finishing my first year of community college where i live now) and I know that students from TCC usually go to either FAMU or FSU..so is it possible to pledge to a fraternity from the local community college or do you have to be AT the university? I'd hate to go to the university as a Junior and not really get to enjoy the greek life, (assuming that I make it). Is it up to the fraternity or is it some defined rule that prohibits students from the local CC to pledge at the university?

I'll assume you mean NIC (non-NALFO) groups. Many (if not all) NIC fraternities require you to be an enrolled student at the school the chapter is located at in order to join. I know my organization and the others on my campus require it, so I can't speak for every NIC group, but it would be a safe bet to say all of them require it.

It depends on the fraternity and the chapter. Not all NIC fraternities forbid applicants from schools in which there is no active chapter. However, they may require applicants to be from 4 year colleges and universities rather than community colleges and so forth (eventhough there are rare instances where the rules are bent).

The OP needs to directly contact the fraternity representatives.
