As you should be. The level of joyful celebration throughout the country misses the bigger picture and is, quite frankly, a little embarrassing.

She was proud because apparently it was the Navy that took him out, and her.son is currently enrolled at Annapolis.

Also, my Pastor had coincidentally (or not so much when you consider the Holy Spirit) chosen yesterday for a sermon on the Revelation/end-times. Interesting stuff, especially when he taught on the Muslim version.
That's all I could think about when reading everyone's FB status updates and watching his speech on the news. It was the MILITARY and I'd like to see proof. I think it was PIKA2001 that brought up about the Hussein brothers-I can tell you that I know, for a fact, they were def. killed because I was literally stationed 2 blocks down from where their bodies were. So, I'm not sure about the GC on showing pictures...hmmmm....

Not that i'm being at all anti-usa/pro-terrorists, but really, i just want to see the proof.
The Today Show said today that they're working on it. They verified through inspection of the body and are doing the dna tests now. They'll probably release it all together if they release it.

According to my husband who does work with DNA, they would have been able to do this within a matter of hours. The problem with DNA testing for forensic labs is the backlog of cases. I'm quite sure that no case would supercede testing OBl's DNA.

Interestinggggggggg. The news at dawn said that Bin Laden's body was being handled according to Islamic tradition. Sending to sea is supposedly not common for Muslim tradition.

I won't be cynical or Debbie Downer...I understand not wanting a burial cite to become a shrine for terrorists...but....

I can't find an article on the mainstream news sites:

I heard the "at-sea" report as well. My assumption was that it was done at sea so that his grave couldn't become a pilgramage destination for crazies.

Right, because the Prez had filled him in before the news conference.

Two reasons:
1. Your statement.
2. No country would want that body anyway.

Also, he was buried very quickly per Islamic traditions - I believe they're similar to Jewish traditions in that the body is buried very quickly. Smart political move. But the burial at sea was to avoid the crazies (not like we can, really, as we see now that all Americans abroad and many major cities are on high alert today and will continue to be until we're sure there's less danger).

"And then the man behind the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil died from an American bullet to his head."
From a FoxNews article. The most beautiful words I've read today.

NYTimes webpage has a lot of photos showing Greeks celebrating in front of the White House. I see Kappa Sigma, Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Phi letters.

I can see the parallels of us celebrating OBLs death, as well as what we saw 10 years ago (celebrations over 9/11) just fine. I'm cool with it. What they committed was terrorism. What Seal Team 6 committed was Justice.

I heard that they the President was also contacting George W. Bush.

I completely missed this last night -- watched the DVR of "The Amazing Race" and then turned the TV off.

As for the President getting credit, that's part of the gig of being Commander-in-Chief, especially on something like this, where he certainly was involved. You get to take credit when it goes right, you have to take blame when it goes wrong.

George W. Bush already released his official statement soon after the news story broke.

How dare you miss this last night because of The Amazing Race!

Justice to us. To them, killing Americans in those acts of terror was justice. Am I glad he's dead? Sure. Am I going to make a fool out of myself in the streets? Absolutely not. I don't believe in celebrating anyone's death. I'm thankful that he is gone, but killing OBL didn't stop the terrorist. If anything, it angered them and will strengthen them, and the footage of Americans celebrating will just fuel the fire, just like it fueled the fire after 9/11.
