Good to see you here, FnF! Don't be surprised if I break the link - I've been watching this baby for a while now!

I did win this, and started bidding on an opal with sapphire points pin, but the auction was cancelled! I was the only bidder until this was cancelled (I fully expected a donnybrook in the last hour!), and it was identical to one I found on an obscure site. My little has twin daughters starting college this fall, and I promised them the pick of my pins, should they go ADPi (did I mention that having an ADPi chapter was a stipulation to their choice of colleges?). I am seriously ticked off at how an auction can be cancelled at the last minute!

Honey, you might want to look at the eBay "rules"; a seller can't "cancel" a sale except under exceptional circumstances. Contact the seller and eBay. This simply does not feel or sound right.

I contacted the seller. She told me that it was her sister's pin, and that the sister wanted either $500 or the pin back. It still smells like week-old salmon to me.

Yeah, it's relisted at $500 now. Don't sully the name of the poor salmon... A bottom feeder is more appropriate here!

I wanted to ask which chapter her "sister" was from. I can't tell you how much I do want the twins to go ADPi (at different schools), but do not want them arguing over who gets the opal pin.
I didn't even respond to the seller's reply. I hope nobody buys it - but you just know that the dealers will. Grrrrr...!

Lovely pin, very similar to mine. I know we have some Ebay dwellers here so I've been meaning to post, I lost my pin somewhere on the way home this fall (a four-state drive, likely lost along the way), so on the off chance that a yellow gold pearl and "ruby" pin with an initiation date of Spring 08 crops up somewhere on the online pin market, please shoot me a PM. I've been idly looking for a replacement (I'm currently using the pin of a friend who had to deactivate) but I still have vain dreams of getting my own pin back!

We actually did find a sister's lost pin on ebay! Unfortunately, someone sniped it, even though she was able to prove it was hers. Maybe we'll have better luck this time!

Honey not to add fuel to the fire but the description says the pin is from Florida State...not sure if that helps or anything

*channelling evil instincts*
Now, isn't it just a crying shame that the photo looks so blurry?

Okay, only one of the twins is going to a school with ADPi - Virginia Tech!!! The other is going to James Madison. Suddenly, I have more reason to be interested in their Panhellenic adding ADPi to their school... But never fear! There's still one more daughter in two years!
Now for the non-personal news: the pearls on an ADPi pin are 1.5mm. I asked a dealer for a comparison of some of the opal pins he has (and has had forever!), and he said most are 2mm - that's why ours are so hard to find!
