You don't need to know anyone in a chapter to obtain a recommendation. Please contact the area Panhellenic where you live/went to high school (google it; for example "Los Angeles Alumnae Panhellenic"). There should be (ideally) an email address for you to contact. And ask everyone you know (parents, their friends, former teachers, etc.).

Does your GPA meet or exceed the required GPA? Be aware that the GPA that is listed is the minimum GPA and that many chapters utilize higher GPA cutoffs than are listed on the Greek Office/Recruitment website. If your GPA is shaky, prepare for heavy cuts.

And keep an open mind and maximize your opportunities. Try not to have a preconceived idea of "getting where (you) would really like."

Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for your response.

My GPA is above what is the required GPA for both the school and the individual chapters. They require a 2.5 and 2.75 respectively. Also I have about 50 hours taken with my last semester putting me on the deans list (finally got diagnosed and medicine for those pesky learning disorders) while the freshman have only taken about 15. I am prepared to be cut based on GPA but I want to make sure that everything else is outstanding so that they do not want to cut me. There is nothing I can do about my GPA, or my disorders for that fact, but everything else about rush (recs, confidence, clothes, hair, conversations, etc.) are in my control. I want to be as prepared as I can be. As a sophomore, I know more about the girls in each sorority and not just the rumors or reputations of the sorority. This is why I did not rush as a freshman. I did not feel comfortable with the information I had on the chapters. I will be happy no matter where I end up because I know that it will be the best place for me.

Thank you so much on your response AzTheta
