Seersucker is definitely a spring/ early summer material. You could wear it after labor day or before Easter, but it just looks silly. It would be like a woman wearing a sun dress in the winter. I still wear open toed shoes in the winter if I'm wearing fancy heels, but NOT if I'm walking through snow or ice. Shoe fashion for high heels doesn't change in the winter. Open-toed shoes are still acceptable.

Put me in the anti-hose camp. I wear it on rare occasions, but I don't even think I have a pair that fits me atm.

And if one is truly polite, one would never go "OMG YOU'RE WEARING WHITE SHOES". That would be rude.
And my take on hose - personally, I like my midriff fat to be locked and loaded, so I'm all for control top panty hose for dressing up - makes my middle-aged legs look better, and my tummy less obvious, so hooray!

I like that I went away for several days and came back to a 4 page discussion on cultural clothing norms that started as question about shoes. This is why I enjoy GC.
(btw, I didn't end up wearing those shoes.)

I just had to share this. My 6 year old nephew is an utter genius and otherwise awesome kid.
When referring to putting on his White Sox shirt today Alec said, "i know it's white but it's only illegal for fashion people to wear white after Labor Day."
I can't stand it! I'm laughing SOOOOO hard.
