Rush.

I plan to transfer school after my 2 years are done, but I plan to attend a 4 year afterwards. JWU,UNO,NMSU,Northwestern State, or ULL... I was wondering about the recruitment process of these schools if there cut throat? I'll just be turning 22 when rush starts? PS I raised my gpa to a 3.7. Any suggestions?

ULL and NSU are not super competitive recruitment schools, but they are pretty traditional Greek systems. You will find that both have pledge classes with mostly freshmen (17, 18 year olds.) There will be a good number of sophomores (18-19 year olds) but very few juniors (19-20 year olds). I think you will be hard pressed to find any 22 year old women pledging at either of those schools, but you'll never know if you don't try. I'm just not sure what you'll have in common with mostly 18 year olds.

NMSU isn't very competetive. In 12 years working with our chapter there, I think I've seen less than 10 recs. It isn't unusual for a junior to get a bid.

UNO is not super competitive either, but you would be hard pressed to find find a 22-year-old NPC New Member.

I pledged as a 22 year old junior transfer. My school is not listed, but at the time it wasnt super competitive, though that is on the upswing in recent years. My school also has a traditional greek system. I feel the reason it worked out for me is because maturity wise at the time, I had the 18-20 year old mindset. In your case, I would give it a try, as it could work out, but I would also be mindful of the advice given to you by other GC'ers here.

Honestly, by the time I graduated at 24, I was ready to be done with the college aspect of membership and ready to move on to the alumna phase of things.
