They did not just do THAT song. I just lost so much respect for Glee.
I can't even.

I was completely loving the music to this episode. I loath that song. It seems like they were making fun of it, but still.....

I'm assuming we are discussing the "friday" song.
Hey at least it was better than the original sung by the 13 year old who couldn't sing anyways.
LOVED Rolling in the Deep. Jonathon Groff you frickin rock!
LOVED Jars of Hearts
LOVED Dancing Queen

I must be the only person who likes all the spin-offs of Friday because my friends were blowing up Facebook complaining about the song, too.

Episode still going here, but I enjoyed Friday. Much better than the original.
On the other hand, I HATED Rolling in the Deep. They did not do that song justice.

Agree! Adele is amazing, and their rendition unfortunately fell flat. Although they are two of my favorite Broadway voices, they just didn't have the soul for it. This episode was great, loved it!
The next episode is "Funeral," who do you think will die? I think it will either be Kurt's dad, Finn's mom, April Rhodes, or Karovsky...

I think it will be Karovsky - the way he apologized to Kurt and the way he ran off at the end of the show leads me to believe that he will commit suicide because he just can't come to terms with being gay.

I read an article with Ryan Murphey and they asked him about Karofsky and suicide and the way he was talking is that while that is what is happening in the world, he wasn't sure that was the direction he wanted the show to go because of the show being a comedy.
With that being said, I agree with indygphib. I have a feeling that it actually will be Karofsky. I know the show is a comedy and all but unfortunately teen suicide, because of bullying and being gay, has been happening ALOT recently. Glee is helping, but it is still occuring.
But we could also be taking funeral literally. It could be more figuratively since Sue is trying to destroy the Glee club. Like the line "it's your funeral", when you are about to do something extremely stupid. It could mean more the "funeral" of the Glee club and not the "funeral" of a person. We do know from the previews that Shue hired Jesse as a coach to help them. I don't think it would be Glee if Jesse didn't have something up his sleeve, especially when he said he wanted to start a business working with show choirs to spy on them.

I fear you're right, but I hope you're not. Wife and I were commenting last night that we haven't enjoyed episodes as much lately b/c it's moved too much from comedy to preachy. The only thing that saved last week's episode for me was the Fleetwood Mac music.
And I thought "Friday" was hilarious -- and they did make it sound half-way good.

Seriously, donate to and help promote the It Get's Better Project. If you don't like Dan Savage then donate directly to The Trevor Project, or any of IGB's partners. IGB's current goal is to get a copy of its book to every middle and high school library in the country. The book's transcriptions of some videos, essays and other things, all with the same message.
But at least toss up a share on Facebook now and again.

I would be very surprised if Karofsky kills himself. If they show is conscious about making a statement and saying that it gets better, then how does this portray that? His suicide wouldn't be a "don't do this" lesson, but rather an "it doesn't get better" lesson.
I would also be upset because I really like Karofsky as a character. Most media portrayals of gay men are stereotypical, so it's really refreshing to have a character that says being gay doesn't mean you're X, Y, and Z.

I am 99.9% sure that there is going to be an actual death in the show. Every description around says that one of the students suffers from an unexpected loss. There are pictures of all the kids filming in black outfits. It's not one of the major characters in the glee club, though. From what I've read, it's most likely going to be a female death. What can I say, it's summer break, I'm bored, and I like research. :P

Does anyone have a pet?
Just sayin'
ETA: Throwing out guesses - Sue's sister? or Becky maybe? I wouldn't think Rachel's mom/Idina since then the baby comes back into 'play' so to speak. The name of Chenowith's character escapes me...

Not her, because she shows up at Nationals in two weeks, from what I've seen.
