Engage in any one of vigorous sports like basketball, swimming, tennis or volleyball. Play for a few months. Watch what you eat and keep away from junk foods.

lose weight

Hi,

I used to be pretty obese and started putting on a lot of weight especially on my thighs and bottom in my late thirties. I started exercising as often as possible and also cut down on a lot of high calorie stuff. Unfortunately I hardly managed to lose much weight at all. I then recently read an article by a lady who claimed that she managed to lose nearly half of her weight using a particular weight loss supplement. I tried it out and it actually worked quite well. Within 4 months I managed to lose about 65 pounds. The results were pretty amazing and I feel so much healthier and energetic now. You can read more about the lady's article at

I have several coworkers who are on the grapefruit diet???? I'll post more specifically when I find out about this diet.

I have my best friend who lost alot of weight but didn't use any supplements. She alternated between a vegetarian diet to a regular diet, practiced portion control, calorie counting, and the only exercise she did was occasional dancing ( clubbin lol) = 50 pounds off.

Like others, my weight has fluctuated over the years. Right now, I'm about 40 pounds overweight. I think I'm perimenopausal. My appetite has increased and my metabolism has decreased. I went to the doctor about all of this Friday. Somehow, talking to her helped me. I had some cookies on Saturday, but nothing sweet/salty/crunchy since then. I praise the Lord for that discipline. I really do think that for me, the ultitmate in weight control is spiritual. I did Weigh Down and did well until problems began with the leadership there. I'm looking into Thin Within.

Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin

for those actively seeking to lose weight, an article for you per Time magazine. remember the old adage, "you are what you eat", very true indeed: http://www.time.com/time/health/arti...914857,00.html

I searched this thread and didn't see this information posted, so I thought I would share.

This is a link to a free tool that shows all the calories burned during every single exercise ever done. All you do is enter your body weight and then select the type of exercise you're inquiring about, and it will tell you how many calories you burn within a given amount of time (i.e., 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc.). I thought it was a very useful tool.

Angry

Bumping this thread, because I'm desperate to do something about this weight now! It seems like ever since Michael Jackson died, I completely let myself go. I gotta come out of this grief somehow.

Still on the weight loss grind. When oh when will I get it together and remain consistent. That's my biggest problem. Anyway, I'm hitting it hard and trying to make it happen in 2010.

Delph998,
I just watched food inc and it seriously made me wake up. I've been trying to lose weight for two years now only to have lost about 5lbs. :-( Maybe watching that movie will actually make me try this time.

Gosh you sound so much like me. I make a habit of marking my calendar whenever I workout so that I can see how consistent I've been. Well, lately, my consistency has been twice this week, none that week, once the other week. I gotta get some habit going here or I'm just not doing myself any good.

Weight Loss Tips

Hi Sorors,

If you are seriously interested in losing weight, please visit www.90daywrc.com. Please followup with me by finding me on Facebook using my e-mail address skny13@hotmail.com, or just email me. With no exercise, I went to get bi-weekly B12 coctails from the doctor and did the 90 Day Challenge and I've lose 2 sizes! Started at a size 12 (needed a 14) and now in a size 8 and some 6's. And I'm healthier! I did watch what I ate, but the system was simple, and the support was awesome. If you add me on FB you can look at my before and afters.
