I stand corrected. I had no idea accepted students could be notified in August.

I believe it's actually a conditional acceptance...it depends on their final year's transcript.

I didn't hear back from IU until June- and I hadn't even been waitlisted.

^ wow, that is such a foreign concept to me! I almost wish that I had had that luxury, but at times I think it was because of my senior year's work that I was accepted into the college of my choice. I guess there's a tradeoff!

i don't really think it is conditional either.
they admit based on grades 9 - 11. i suppose you could mess it up by flunking your senior year, but as long as you do reasonably well, you're in.

That is why it is called conditional-screw up or screw around and they will pull your acceptance.

My daughter completed her 2nd day of Philanthropy parties today. She was very nervous about making her selections tonight. She liked all the houses she visited both yesterday & today. She does has her favorites but it was very hard for her to cut any of the houses in this round. She will know how many invites for the next round bright & early tomm morning. How did all the other PNMs do? How are the Moms holding up???

Oh tuuthfairy...pacific time is such an advantage...saves you worry time!
My cousin's daughter is really upbeat & her roomates & friends seem to be faring well :-)
I have a question ladies...When will we get a bid list? I know I'll hear about my cousin & a few of her closest friends but waiting on a complete list is such torture. I'm from a hometown where it seems about 5 of the houses at Alabama pledge half their darn class each year...o.k...well maybe 1/3 of the pledges...not kidding :-)
Guess I must practice patience but it just seems every year it takes forever. Auburn does a much better job of providing a list quickly. Of course, I don't know anyone rushing at Auburn this year. Thanks for any thoughts on when to expect a list...I appreciate it & still thinking good thoughts for all the "new pnm mama's" Just think....it will be here soon!!

Last year it was Monday, the first business day after. They used to post it earlier, but that was before budget cuts.

Keep your browser posted to www.ua.edu and refresh it as often as you can stand.
I think the university has been the first to post the list. In the past few years, it has shown up on both Sunday evening and Monday morning. Let's hope for Sunday evening!

Good for her!
Now...this is where some of the heaviest and most shocking cuts come. Many girls will have all 9 parties on their card, but a LOT have less than that...and I mean not just 7 or 8, but 2 or 3 or 4.
This is also when a LOT of girls drop out.
They need to keep going...and take a fresh look at all the groups they ARE invited to.
