Frat rush at Michigan

Can anyone give me information on frat rush at Michigan. I'm from out-of-state and have no fraternity connections.

for starters...

Try and avoid the term "frat". I rarely see organizations that embrace the term. It is either a Fraternity or a "Greek Letter Organization".

I don't know much about recruitment at Michigan, but I hope this helps at least a little.

As has been discussed ad nauseum here at GreekChat, this is hardly a universal rule. In some places and in some orgs, "frat" is perfectly acceptable. In other places and other orgs, it is not. I'd always advice someone considering Greek life to avoid the word because they don't want to risk offending anyone, but in some places it really isn't considered offensive at all.

And here's hoping we can let it rest there without anyone coming in to share what they always tell their pledges about it.

lynne63, assuming you're talking about IFC rush, you could check this out: IFC Recruitment at Michigan.

It is never a "Greek Letter Organization" if you are referring to a real (social) fraternity.

BGLO frats and their frat brothers often say "wassup frat."

LOL--just wanted to share in the ad nauseum.

I think what he means is that guys in fraternities don't refer to their fraternities as GLO's. Imagine during rush hearing....

" Whats up, I hear you want to join a greek letter organization, you should give us a look cuz we are the top GLO on campus "

NEVER going to hear that.

Are you positive or is this another one of those things that GCers pretend is uniform?
