I know, I just like to perpetuate the Mason-JMU rivalry in favor of my university, which is a far superior institution.

LOL, one letter off! And it's a great chapter to boot!

Look on the bright side...maybe your little's twins will be able to become members of the Macon Magnolia Duo when Phi Mu colonizes there! If not, maybe you'll get lucky and they'll rush a year later. Good luck to them! Those are some great schools!

I'm rushing in the Spring, I transferred so I'll most likely be here an extra year. And I'll be a junior. My cousin was in AXO so she said I had a legacy. But I assume it depends on the chapters at my school.

Your cousin told you wrong. Check the AXO website. Cousins are not legacies. I've never heard of a cousin being a legacy for any NPC chapter. She can still write a rec for you, and indicate that you are related, but it doesn't make you a legacy.

I have friends who is definitely going to at VA Tech, and others that are thinking about it. I'm SO EXCITED for my friend who's going to VTech, and I'm selfishly hoping she'll go APhi!

Wow. I know I haven't been on in a while, but I'm so glad to be seeing some VT love on these boards!
honeychile- ADPi won sorority of the year for 2009! They're awesome women.
pomplemousse- Alpha Phi is also full of cool ladies. I went pretty far with them during my recruitment, so I wouldn't be surprised if your friend loved them.
Atrainer89- Unfortunately, you aren't an AXO legacy, but you should still definitely check them out as I believe they will be doing fall informal recruitment.

Thank you so much for the info - one of my little's twins will be going there in the fall! I'm not going to say it again until Recruitment is over! Twin #2 is going to JMU, so hopefully she'll sit out Recruitment for a year or so...!

My younger brother's long-time girlfriend (practically the little sister I never had) is going through rush at Texas Tech this fall.
I'm excited that she will be the first rec I get to write as I just graduated! Hoping to get more opportunities soon though

Got my recs done for a few girls and my dd. Dd's big sister did hers (her first time, I think she got a kick out of it!) and sent on the info and pics to two other girls in different houses. Also got another from 2 other houses - so have six different houses taken care of so far...and got the info mailed to Grandma who still does it via the magazine and her typewriter. I told her she could write See Attached Sheet on her form, so she doesn't have to try to figure it all out (she's 85!) Now to go track down a few more girls in the county and encourage them to go through recruitement!

Just another update - big brothers can be helpful - his gf's aunt has got her recs to all the houses, and is also going to get them for dd - so got all the houses covered! Some more than once! So glad to have that taken care of - what great people! Don't think I will be posting during recruitment- there are very few from our school that do. Not sure why.One started last year but never finished.....but she moves in less than 6 weeks! Went to Target and got all that crazy bedding stuff! How fun!
