In 2002 KA was removed from UTK by the national office for not holding up Kappa Alpha's ideals and morals.
In 2006 KA was brought back on campus received charter 18 months later.
This was an email I received a few days ago:
"The University of Tennessee held their annual Greek Awards Banquet this past Sunday, April 11, 2010. We are proud to announce the current Pi chapter won 4 awards which include:
*IFC Fraternity Chapter of the Year
*IFC Outstanding Scholastic Program
*IFC Outstanding Chapter President - Former Number I Daniel Gupton
*Award for scoring 90% or better on the awards application
These accolades follow the 5 National awards recently won by the chapter. These young men continue to perpetuate a chapter culture consistent with the values of Kappa Alpha. They not only remain competitive on a major southeastern campus without a chapter house, but also work diligently to offer a substantive fraternal experience uncommon in such environments." -Pi Alumni Association
Besides these awards from the University of Tennessee, Pi chapter was awarded an Ammen along with many other awards at the 2010 Richard T. Feller Province Council, which they hosted.

I cannot wait to see how good they are when they have a house.
